Welcome to Vlokk. By accessing or using our website and services, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. What Vlokk Is

Vlokk is a fashion travel discovery platform that helps users find independent fashion boutiques, vintage stores, markets, and concept stores around the world. Spot listings are sourced from Google Places, user community submissions, and store owners who have claimed their listing.

2. Using Vlokk

You may use Vlokk for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to scrape, reproduce, or redistribute our content without permission. You must not use Vlokk to post false, misleading, or harmful content, or to violate any applicable laws.

3. User Accounts

Creating an account lets you save spots, build wishlists, generate city maps, and write reviews. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You can delete your account at any time from your account settings — all your data is permanently erased.

4. Community Submissions & Reviews

When you submit a spot or write a review, you grant Vlokk a non-exclusive licence to display that content on the platform. We reserve the right to moderate, edit, or remove submissions that violate our guidelines or are factually incorrect. Reviews are subject to an approval process before publication.

5. Spot Listings & Third-Party Data

Many listings are sourced from the Google Places API. Location data, ratings, and business details may not always be current. Vlokk does not guarantee the accuracy of listing information and is not responsible for any loss arising from reliance on it. AI-generated summaries are editorial descriptions and do not constitute endorsements.

6. Intellectual Property

The Vlokk name, logo, and original content are owned by Vlokk and may not be used without permission. Spot data sourced from Google Places is subject to Google's Terms of Service. User-submitted content remains the property of the submitter.

7. Limitation of Liability

Vlokk is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including reliance on listing information or AI-generated content.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Vlokk after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. If we make material changes we will notify users by email.

Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. When you use Vlokk we store your saved spots, wishlist cities, AI-generated city maps, and any reviews you submit. We do not collect payment information.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your data solely to provide and improve the Vlokk service — powering your personalised saved list, wishlist, and city maps. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or third parties.

3. Passwords & Security

Passwords are hashed with bcrypt before being stored. Nobody at Vlokk can read your plain-text password. Sessions use encrypted, httpOnly cookies managed by NextAuth and expire automatically.

4. Third-Party Services

Vlokk uses the Google Places API to surface business listings. Google's Privacy Policy applies to that data. We use the Anthropic API to generate editorial summaries — no personally identifiable information is sent to Anthropic. Mapping is powered by Mapbox.

5. Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Account → Profile → Danger Zone. This permanently removes all your personal data from our database — saved spots, maps, wishlist, reviews, and account details. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@vlokk.com.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email. The effective date at the top of this page always reflects the latest version.

Business Listings

Vlokk surfaces independent fashion businesses to help fashion travellers discover them. Most listings are sourced automatically from Google Places. Here's what you need to know as a business owner.

Claiming Your Listing

If your business appears on Vlokk and you'd like to manage it — adding a description, photos, upcoming events, or sales — you can claim your page. Email us at hello@vlokk.com with your business name, city, and a link to your store page (if you have it) and we will send you a verification link.

Requesting Removal

If you are the owner of a business listed on Vlokk and you would like your listing removed, please email hello@vlokk.com with your business name, city, and the URL of your listing. We will process removal requests within 7 business days.

Inaccurate Information

If any information about your business is incorrect (address, opening hours, name), you can either claim your listing to update it directly, or email us and we will correct it manually. For data that originates from Google Places, updating your Google Business Profile is the fastest way to see corrections reflected on Vlokk.
